Q. We like you so much! Can you play longer than our
contracted time?
A. Thanks, we like you too. If the party is really kicking and you hate to
have to call an end to it all, we can continue playing at $50 per hour.
Q. Can Michigan DJ perform at events outside of Metro Detroit?
A. Why yes we can! We love road trips, however we charge $1 per mile in one
direction from zip code 48092.
Q. Can Michigan DJ accommodate events other then weddings?
A. Sure! Just let us know when and where! We love Engagement Parties,
Birthdays, Bar/Bat Mitzvahs, Retirements, Reunions, Corporate and Charity
Events as well as Office Christmas Parties, and more! Please email us
directly for special pricing.
Q. When do I pay you and what's the deal with the deposit?
A. A deposit of $100.00 will be due to hold your date and rate. The deposit
will be deducted from the total cost of your event. We will send you a copy
of your contract that will need to be signed and returned to us to finalize
the booking.
Q. What is your cancellation policy?
A. If you cancel, only the deposit will be forfeited. If you have pre-paid
for your event, you will forfeit whatever payments are made. Less than 30
days before your event, the entire fee will be due.
Q. Do you take requests and will you play our favorite
songs?
A. Of course! We'll try to accommodate as many requests as possible. We have
no DJ egos to protect, so feel free to bring along your favorite MP3's. You
can also use our online music request system to request music before your
event.
Q. All joking aside, do you know what you're doing?
A. Rest assured. Michigan DJ is a professional DJ company. We carry 2
million in liability insurance and equipment insurance and use professional
gear and always have backups. Don't take our word for it, check out our
references!
Q. What can you expect from Michigan DJ?
A. We have found a niche catering to hip couples. We've gained a
following by those seeking a non-cheesy, no sparkly vests, inflatable
guitar-less reception. However, we have been known to amp things up for our
rowdier couples. The details are up to you, we're here to make it happen
without any pretension! We are normal, reliable and friendly people…which is
how we have found success in the wedding industry.
Q. Do I have to feed you?
A. We love being fed! We can even tell you where the best food is in
Michigan! However, it is completely at your discretion whether or not you
decide to feed your DJ and other vendors. A meal is truly appreciated as your DJ often works
for 8 hours at a time with very little time for breaks. Tip: A service meal
is often available from your venue as a scaled-down, less expensive version
designated for your DJ.
Q. How far in advance do I have to book you?
A. Since Michigan DJ Service offers great rates, we tend to book-up very
quickly! We recommend that you contact us at least a year in advance to get
first dibs on our availability for your event. The sooner, the better!
Q. What is the point of a 2nd DJ?
A. A second DJ is included in our Titanium Package to help coordinate
microphone usage, audience participation and taking requests.
Q. Sounds fabulous! How can I book Michigan DJ Service?
A. Click on our "Check Availability Link" on our home page and send us the
details on your event. James or Samantha will get back to you as soon as
possible to give you a confirmed rate quote. We are always willing to meet
with you to go over your music needs, show you our Packages and help you in
deciding if Michigan DJ is the right fit for your event. To finalize the
booking, we require a $100 deposit which can be made with a credit card
along with a signed service agreement.
Q. My wedding ceremony is outside/upstairs/at another venue. Can you DJ this
portion of the day too?
A. Yeppers! However, we do charge $150 for a second sound system and for
setting-up twice, doing another sound check and moving our equipment around.
If you contract with us for the ceremony, note that our DJ start time will
begin immediately after the ceremony.
